Get to know Joe
Homebase: Barnet, VT Favorite place to fuel up: "The Drifter" at Anthony's Diner in St. Johnsbury, breakfast burritos at The Bagel Depot in Lyndonville, or the "Number 8" at the Miss Lyndonville Diner are all pretty solid contenders.
How do you ride with gratitude? I try to remember every time I ride my bike that the very fact I can physically ride a bike is in itself an amazing gift. When I ponder that fact in addition to the fact that I get to ride in such a beautiful place, often on private land on trails that took hundreds or even thousands of hours to build; it's hard not to feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. It makes me motivated to do everything I can to help ensure these trails and the experience of riding them is preserved and made available to as many people as possible.
What are you looking forward to most this summer? I'm really looking forward to connecting with both the riders and stewards of the Bike Borderlands network at numerous events and working together to keep spreading the Borderlands stoke and Ride With Gratitude message. I'm also really looking forward to racing the Burke EWS race and watching the best in the world compete on home trails. I'm competing in the amateur class, but I am 100% confident it is going to be a burly challenge nonetheless. Should be fun!
